Drawing Contest design with childlike, crayon‑style, colorful illustrations.

Project 1: Kids Drawing Contest

Social Media Post

THE CHALLENGE

The Stanley Park Community Association (SPCA) needed an engaging social media post to announce a community children’s drawing contest. The goal was to capture the attention of local families in a crowded social feed while keeping essential details clear and easy to read on mobile screens.

THE STRATEGY

I composed a vibrant layout using playful, hand-drawn-style elements in Canva to evoke children’s creativity and instantly capture attention on social media. To ensure the post was visually engaging yet functional, I structured the content by centering the contest title within a clean badge, balancing child-friendly graphics with clear information for parents.

Project 2: Summer Pop-Up Programs

Social Media Post

THE CHALLENGE

The Stanley Park Community Association (SPCA) needed an engaging visual asset to launch its July and August Summer Pop-Up Programs schedule. The goal was to build community excitement and encourage participation across multiple age groups – from young children and teenagers (ages 4–14) to older adults (55+) – by presenting a multi-week event calendar in an approachable, easy-to-read format.

THE STRATEGY

I built a dynamic, summer-themed hero graphic using bright colors, tropical framing, and playful illustrations to reflect the mood of summer season activities. Designed in Canva, the visual elements were arranged to maximize readability and engagement on social feeds. To elevate performance, the asset was published as a short animated video, acting as a highly engaging cover piece that encouraged users to swipe and explore the full monthly schedule.
